Racella + Mattdeguia Drop Hazy, Soulful EP 'Maganda Way'

I've been hella looking forward to hearing singer-songwriter Racella's original material for awhile now, so I'm super stoked about this new release that dropped last Friday! I'd heard of her awhile ago through her soulful YouTube covers of R&B artists like Tori Lanez and Bryson Tiller, and when I looked her up saw that she writes music for other artists like Kelly Rowland. Maganda Way is a short three-song EP made in collaboration with her little brother Matt De Guia, and was named after the street they grew up on in Delano, CA (jellz, hella Pinay). It has a super ambient, hazy R&B vibe and Racella's sultry, jazzy voice plays beautifully with Matt's production. All the songs are dope, but my favorite has got to be “Drank,” which samples a hook from "Buy You a Drank"- and any reference to T-Pain is an absolute win in my book.

Looking forward to more from these two! Take a listen to Maganda Way below.

Singer-songwriter Racella and Producer MattDeguia release a collaborative sibling mini project.
