Playlist: #TBT FAHM Edition

This month, we created a video playlist of some of our fave 90's throwbacks - and as it's FAHM, it's only right that we fill it with tons of the amazing Fil-Am R&B and freestyle singers we still go crazy for. This playlist is all about remembering those first crushes, chatting on IRC and Asian Avenue, taping songs off late night radio, and riding around in souped up cars to get some aZn-ass group pics with your friends to trade with cuties who hollered at you at the mall. Expect smooth grooves, dance hits, and a LOT of tender slow jams - cuz y'all know we love a good ballad around here. This playlist is also dedicated to the memory of AC Lorenzo, the founder of Kai, who passed away earlier this month - he's a legend and will be truly missed. Dj King Marie, born Christine Marie, is a proud native Chicagoan. She is known for seamlessly blending Hip-Hop, R&B, and Reggae, owning her style and sound behind the turntables. She has held residencies at Fat Buddha, IMOK, and The Delancey in New York City; resident DJ for Age/Sex/Location and Red Light parties in Los Angeles; and Cold Chillen in Chicago. In 2015, King Marie took her talents to the Philippines where she took over a headlining spot at The Raven in Manila. In 2016, she hit the road and toured the US and Pacific Northwest as Chuck Inglish's tour DJ.
