#MusicMonday: Sonia Barcelona "Whatever"

This week, we're hella feeling Sonia Barcelona's latest single "WHATEVER," a self-reflective record created on a two channel looper in her bedroom, where she also filmed and directed the video. Born in Guam, this Indian/Filipina singer-songwriter is based in Las Vegas, NV. She began writing songs in 2013 with a classical guitar (and is now sponsored by Gibson) and started experimenting with a looper in 2017. Layering melodic harmonies over acoustic guitar, her vintage-y bossa nova-y vibes feel like falling in love, polaroids at the beach, laying in the grass listening to Jobim in the summer. The song stemmed from a question her friend asked her regarding making a decision to which she replied do whatever you want, and also speaks to her personal journey with self-doubt about her own music.
