Anitun Tabu is known as the fickle-minded goddess of wind and rain in Tagalog mythology. She's one of the two children of Dumangan (the sky-god of good harvest) and Idianale (the goddess of labor, good deeds, and animal husbandry), along with her brother Dumakulem, guardian of the mountains. According to Filipiknow.net, "In Zambales culture, this goddess was known as Aniton Tauo, one of the lesser deities assisting their chief god, Malayari. Legend has it that Aniton Tauo was once considered superior to other Zambales deities. She became so full of herself that Malayari reduced her rank as punishment. The Zambales people used to offer her with the best kind of pinipig or pounded young rice grains during harvest season. Sacrifices that made use of these ingredients are known as mamiarag in their local dialect."

Sunday's Full Moon is in the air sign of Gemini, ruled by Mercury, who is often shown as a fleet-footed sky deity with wings on his shoes and helmet, as Anitun Tabu is similarly depicted in the beautiful illustration by Renz Rubpen above - and nothing against Geminis, but they are also known to be notoriously fickle. This last Full Moon of 2017 is a Super Moon, and is ALSO the same day that Mercury goes retrograde, which means....y'all better get ready for some shit. Actually, this retrograde might not be so bad thanks to the Super Moon energy combo, but still gotta watch it when it comes to communication, decision-making, and planning in general. According to Intuitive Astrology, this Full Moon in Gemini is "all about illuminating the truth, especially when it comes to how you communicate, and your true motives and intentions. If you or someone you know has been holding back the truth or doing things for the wrong reasons, this Full Moon may force things to rise up to the surface...so be patient and allow things to unfold under the presence of this energy. Whatever truths serve your highest good are going to come to the light, so be open and know that the truth can really set you free."

2017 has definitely been a year of changes, endings, and new beginnings, and this Full Moon feels like the end point to a lot of that energy. Take this time during the Full Moon to reflect on what has passed and the new beginnings that have been delivered to you - and remember, although they may not have been what you thought you wanted, trust the Universe and its intentions for you and feel gratitude for what is.
